Taking over reviewsday with a recommendation because I'm a rebel, a renegade much like the subject of this post. Last weekend I spent a large part of my Saturday evening in the company of one Garth Marenghi, well the DVD anyways. Although many people have seen this (it was first on television in 2004) I watched it with my younger sister who is 16 who had never heard of it and I feel like it's my duty to make sure that other people see it too because unlike so many comedies this feels like one that will be relevant for a long time because shit television of the eighties will always be a bit shit.

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace is a parody of eighties television set in a the fictional hospital of fictional sci-fi/horror writer Garth Marenghi. It features one of my favourite theme tunes of all time and some really hilarious bad acting. 8 years after watching it originally there are still lines that lead to a fit of the giggles and One Track Lover will always be a highlight.

If you haven't seen it then I ask what are you waiting for? I am sure it is currently on 4OD and if not the whole series is available on DVD (note: I checked and its on youtube so I shall put a link to the first ep below). The programme is definitely a cult classic and one of my favourite comedy programmes.

It would seem that although I don't believe that 2012 will be the end of the world it seems to have briefly halted my blog. I'd say I was busy becoming a better person for a new year but we all know how I feel about that and while writing this should probably have been something that I tried to do the last two weeks seemed to have whizzed by in a flash of "oh I should really write my blog later"'s.

Anyways I shall leave you with Professor Brian Cox who for once isn't telling us that the world is going to end, hopefully this will be true of the blog too.
